A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to nonexistent addresses under the same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get messages from partners or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be delivered to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

Configuring a catch-all e-mailbox will be remarkably easy in case you’ve got a shared website hosting plan with us. You can activate this feature through our advanced, albeit easy-to-work-with Email Manager, which is an essential part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the shared web hosting account itself. You will find all the mailboxes that you have created enumerated alphabetically and to the right of each of them there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately notify you whether a certain mailbox gets all the messages pertaining to a given domain name or not. With a single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature at any time. In case there’s activated email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a specific domain name, you’ll receive a warning notification from our system. The latter will not replace/deactivate anything automatically and without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house built Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will allow you to create a catch-all email mailbox without effort even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to accomplish that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each mailbox that you’ve created with your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will notify you if you have already created another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding activated. In case you decide that you do not need the feature any longer, you can deactivate it by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
